I don’t need you anymore! All my life you made believe I was only worth how intelligent I am! But Draco loves me. He loves me! He loves me, Ronald. And that is worth everything! We’re going away from you, away from Harry, away from London! 

Trying to make it work, but man, these times are hard.

“What happy memory were you thinking of when you conjured it?” Draco asked curiously, quite unaware of the smile curling on his lips at her infectious delight. 

Not surprisingly, Hermione was able to produce a Patronus on her first attempt. The silvery shape of an otter hung suspended in the air, and for a moment they could only stare silently at it in undisguised fascination.

The young witch grinned at him as she lowered her wand. “You, of course,” she said, and colour flooded Draco’s face. “Specifically when you turned into a ferret. You looked so adorable then.” she laughed at the outraged expression on his face.

“Haha. Very  funny, Granger.”

Hermione was still smiling when she reached over to capture his hand. “But I was thinking about you, truly.”
